BIZ PLAN CENTRAL
MJ Gottlieb has been writing business plans since November, 1991, when he started his first company, BNW Racial Awareness Wear. He does not specialize in any one market, as MJ remarks, " A business prospectus works fluently with any size or type of business, with the overall purpose of conveying a clear and succinct message to prospective investors." All clients are treated in the following fashion:
First: MJ meets the prospective client in order to gain an understanding of the concept and determine its marketability. If there doesn't seem to be a demographic, niche, or consumer base for the market, MJ will not continue further, unless the prospective client agrees to work with MJ to attempt to flesh out such a niche that would create a viable product or service to a specific demographic.
Second: MJ does not just produce a business plan. The client must agree to participate in researching his or her market, define what he or she will do once the prospectus is done, and what steps to take to negotiate their product or service and propose it to suitable investors for the purposes of strategic alliance and/or acquisition. Homework assignments are given to the client to best prepare the individual(s) once they are on their own, as well as mandatory weekly meetings and/or conference calls to participate in progress reports from the past week, and agenda moving forward..
Third: Every prospectus will come with a formatted, cohesive plan for investment, strategic merger and/or acquisition or strategic alliance. The format will cover the following:
- Executive Summary- Management- Market Analysis- Marketing Strategy- Selling Tactics- Advertising & Promotion- Public Relations- Risk Factors- Articles validating the investment- Use of Proceeds- 5 Year Projected Income Statements, 3 Year cash flow reports (if needed)
Fourth: The client, should he or she decide to proceed, must agree to a 6 month term. The first month, being information gathering to be submitted to MJ, followed by the second, third, and fourth month for full execution of business plan, and the final two months to train the client for presentation of the company to best reflect the contents of the plan.
If the client wants to retain the services of MJ for the negotiation process, the contract will automatically renew for periods of 3 month terms, or until an investment is made.
Retainer per month reflects complexity of plan ranging from standard plan ($5,000-$7500 US) to complicated and multifaceted plans, stage funding, etc... which are considerably more.
Any and all legal work that needs to be inserted into the plan is at client's expense. MJ works with a specific firm for business plans which give significant rate reductions.
Note: All clients personal names and/or companies to be used as references are protected. MJ signs a non-disclosure statement with every single client that their name, company and information gathered shall not be used during or after my work with them has concluded. " If you ask around, sources will tell you I produce results. You can inquire all you want throughout the market about my reputation. Any information volunteered by leaders of the industry will attest to my untarnished record," says MJ, " but I do not divulge private information for monetary gain. "
"What most start-ups don't realize is that a business prospectus is not important but required before they start their business. even if they are not seeking investment. The most significant part of business is to solve the problems on paper before they happen in reality. Everything must be blueprinted. If an individual(s) can't plan out their company and see both the forest and the trees, they will fail before they begin. Allocating this thirty or forty thousand dollars to obtain such structure is a necessity, whether you do it with me or anyone else. It will be the key difference between losing 30-40 million dollars or making it, when the game has started and the dollars are real."
